FOUNDER OF MAISON MODE MÉDITERRANÉE - PRESIDENT OF THE MAISON MODE MÉDITERRANÉE ENDOWMENT FUND

Maryline Bellieud-Vigouroux studied literature in Aix-en-Provence. From 1976 to 1986, she devoted herself to her life as a wife and mother to her two daughters Sophie and Aurélia. Passionate about contemporary art, she also organizes numerous exhibitions showcasing international artists with links to Marseille and the surrounding region.

A visionary, in 1986 she decided to support her husband Robert Paul Vigouroux's term of office as Mayor of Marseille, by choosing a sector that was at once cultural, economic and unprecedented: fashion. She believes that fashion in Marseille is a noble vehicle for expressing the character and diversity of the different communities that contribute to the positive image of the future Marseille. Her goal is to make Marseille a city of fashion, where culture is an image booster, to develop training in the fashion professions, and to support both emerging and established brands.

With couturier Azzedine Alaïa, she laid the foundation stone for the creation of the Musée de la Mode, and then built up its heritage. She also chose young curators free to reinvent fashion display, including Catherine Ormen and Olivier Saillard, today Director of the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation.

It builds up a solid address book and brings together influential personalities from all areas of the fashion industry to support and train young fashion entrepreneurs based in Provence and the Mediterranean basin.

In 2010, with the support of Aix-Marseille University (AMU), a Bachelor's degree followed by two Master's degrees in Fashion Business Management complete the training program. The OpenMyMed Prize competition has been set up in this legitimate geography, starting in Marseille, the Mediterranean and French-speaking Africa, and includes an endowment to enable designers to develop a major project for their brand.

2016 saw the launch of the OpenMyMed Festival. In collaboration with the city's museums: MUCEM, Musée de la Mode (Borély ), Musée d'Art Contemporain, the festival introduces new talents to the general public. Yacine Aouadi, Simon Porte Jacquemus and Christelle Koché, on a carte blanche basis, exhibit their collections and creative universes, linking fashion and art in an innovative dialogue.

2019 marks the transformation of the Maison Mode Méditerranée (MMM) association into the MMM Endowment Fund. The "Opus on fashion design in the Mediterranean" exhibition at the Borely Fashion Museum receives the "Union des deux Rives" label awarded by French President Emmanuel Macron and Foreign Minister Jean-Yves le Drian.
Maryline Bellieud-Vigouroux becomes President of the Fonds de Dotation Maison Mode Méditerranée and Jina Luciani Vice-President. The Fonds de Dotation Maison Mode Méditerranée participates as an expert in the UNESCO study on fashion in Africa.

In 2024, the MMM Endowment Fund is closely associated with Maison Chanel for the Défilé Croisière in Marseille and the exhibitions programmed by 19 M Hors les Murs at the Mucem, an opportunity for Maison Chanel to underline its constant commitment to the FDDMM since 1988. In May 2024, Jina Luciani becomes President of the Maison Mode Méditerranée Endowment Fund.

Founder of the Maison Mode Méditerranée endowment fund, Maryline Bellieud Vigouroux stands alongside those who, on both sides of the Mediterranean and French-speaking Africa, are reinventing the future of fashion.

From 2001 to 2011, she founded MBV Conseil and worked with numerous institutions and companies, including : Fédération Française du Prêt-à Porter Féminin , Chambre Syndicale Parisienne, Galeries Lafayette, Maison Jean Louis Sherrer, Ricard ... Maryline Bellieud-Vigouroux is a Chevalier in the Ordre National du Mérite, Chevalier in the Ordre National de la Légion d'Honneur, Benoit Payan, Mayor of Marseille awarded her the Médaille d'Honneur de la Ville de Marseille in recognition of a commitment that has placed Marseille on the international circuit of fashion cities.
