JINA LUCIANI
FOUNDER, OCCIDENTE
Born in Beirut, Jina Luciani is a young Mediterranean designer, deeply attached to the PACA region where she grew up as a child, and is now passionate about fashion and the arts.
After brilliant studies, notably in New York, where she took Fashion Design courses at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology, Jina Luciani decided to specialize in Lingerie, in France at Esmod Paris, where she graduated with honors. In 2000, at just 24 years of age, she was appointed Vice-President of Design at Viamode NY. At the same time, she opened her first label, French Nomad, which met with great success in the press and became part of the Barneys NY department store selection in its very first season. Enriched by this initial experience, she continued to meet new people and gain professional experience from Paris to New York for several years.
In 2006, she returned to the Côte d'Azur and, at the age of 30, launched the Occidente Ecocollection Côte d'Azur signature, an original, eco-friendly wardrobe concept for herself, inspired by the Western way of life. Since then, in her workshop surrounded by olive trees, family and friends, she has created authentic, modern collections inspired by vegetation, the sea and the balance of the elements. You'll find an entire wardrobe dedicated to this art of living, including specific lines of Lingerie, Lounge & Yogawear and Beachwear.
Her brand, Occidente, recognized by the public press such as Le Monde newspaper, ELLE magazine and WWD in the USA, has been named 'The Selection' 3 times by the major Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris. She has taken part in international exhibitions such as Lingerie Americas and Curve Las Vegas, where she received a promising welcome from experts. Customers recognize her singular, modern, feminine style, absolute comfort and loyalty.
In 2017, she also took a seat on the Board of Directors of Maison Mode Méditerranée (MMM), of which she will become President in 2019. Since 2020, Jina Luciani has been a trustee of the Maison Mode Méditerranée Endowment Fund.
