It was on the Portuguese islands of the Azores that Susana Lopes fell in love with knitting as a child, and her passion for design was born. After studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the London College of Fashion, she developed traditional lace-weaving techniques from her childhood, and continues to explore the links between technology and craft. Her experimental designs for new fabrics, and her unshakeable faith in tomorrow's fashion, are the very signature of SUSANA BETTENCOURT.

"We need to change our strategy, knowing that the future lies in lower margins and fairer prices for customers. This means investing in the press, which is a budget I don't have. What's more, we need a distribution strategy with an agent and representatives rather than trade shows. OPENMYMED PRIZE will help me to create a company that is open to the future.
