Back from a road-trip to South America with her family, Bérengère Perret - whose background is in events and project management - decided to launch the Espigas footwear brand in 2010. Inspired by the Argentinian "alpargata" espadrille worn by gauchos, the comfortable, lightweight lined cotton canvas shoes are revisited in the colors of the South of France. Design, comfort, solidarity (part of the proceeds are donated to an ngo) and a lifestyle dimension animated by a sense of freedom that appeal to concept stores and home decoration boutiques, retailers of the Marseille-based brand.
