ALEKSANDAR PROTIC

Based in Lisbon since 1991, Aleksandar Protic studied in his native Belgrade and Antwerp. He was awarded the prize for most promising designer by the Belgrade Fashion Statue. In 2000, he created his own label, which he developed while designing costumes for numerous plays and dance companies.

"Learning from each other. The meeting between designers was particularly nourishing for me during this experience in Marseille. I felt close to them. It's important to listen to other designers and discuss the difficulties we face, the solutions we have to invent, the tricks we think up to succeed in doing what we love: creating. Every week we spent at the Maison de la Création was intense. In five days, we were able to talk to more influential personalities than in a year in Paris! At Who's Next, we were showcased together, each with our own brand, but in a dedicated space. It was not only enriching, but also fun. We share the same love of the Mediterranean. It has a direct and indirect influence on our creations.

Mediterranean Fashion Prize (MFP 2010-2018): a prize dedicated to designers from the Mediterranean basin, with a program of e-learning and expert guidance, leading to a week in Marseille with the entire graduating class.
