ERIC BERTON

Aix-Marseille University President Eric Berton joins the Board of Directors of Maison Mode Méditerranée (MMM).

With a PhD in fluid mechanics, he took charge of a sports department within the SPI (sciences pour l'ingénieur) department, where he set up a research team developing work in the fields of muscular biomechanics and the biomechanics of movement.

He created a Master's degree in movement engineering and ergonomics, and also undertook to develop relations between companies and Aix-Marseille-II, with the creation in 2008 of a Chair of Excellence involving the industrial group Oxylane. As part of the university's foundation, he also launched the "Engineering, Innovation and Ergonomics of Sports Projects" chair, which funds research projects in the field of sports and technologies for aging.

In 2010, Éric Berton became Dean of the Marseille Faculty of Sports Science. In January 2012, he joined the governance of the merged University of Aix-Marseille as Vice-president in charge of valorization and innovation, and became Director of the Institut des sciences du mouvement (UMR AMU/CNRS), until 2019. Éric Berton is also President of the AMU business incubator Impulse (since 2012) and was President of the Belle de Mai incubator from 2015 to 2020.
