2022 SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH GRANT

Scientific Research Grant awarded to doctoral student Pierre-Jean Desmerie. His thesis, produced under contract with the prestigious Bard Graduate Center in New York (USA), under the supervision of historian Michele Majer, focuses on the clothing worn by colonial women in Algeria. Pierre-Jean Desmerie will also be collaborating with the MMM Endowment Fund on conferences and other scientific events, with the aim of promoting knowledge of contemporary and Mediterranean fashion.

As scientific research is an integral part of fashion and its evolution, the MMM Endowment Fund established a doctoral contract with a fashion student from EHESS back in 2020, and has since been working to develop a fashion prize in scientific research that is unprecedented in the European fashion competition landscape.
