BAŞAK CANKEŞ

Designer Başak Cankeş holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Izmir School of Fine Arts. The Bashaques spirit is to incorporate art into fashion, a principle that could be called "Artwear" or "wearable art". One of the collections was inspired by the work of Turkish photographer Murathan Özbek. Images are printed on pieces or woven into silk and leather. The designer's innate aptitude for patterns was soon noticed by her teachers and nurtured by her experiences as an assistant designer at Bora Aksu in England.

Mediterranean Fashion Prize (MFP 2010-2018): a prize dedicated to designers from the Mediterranean basin, with a program of e-learning and expert guidance, leading to a week in Marseille with the entire graduating class.
