ARCHIVES - THE MMM PRIMER: BERNARD PERRIS

In 2001, the Musée de la Mode organized an exhibition on couturier Bernard Perris and his muse, Baroness Inès Reille. Following this event, we published a book entitled "Une femme, un couturier, 25 ans d'élégance". "The donation to the Musée de la Mode de Marseille of 100 dresses by Baroness Reille bears witness to the complicity between an elegant woman of the French aristocracy and a young couturier, Bernard Perris, to whom she devoted a faithful exclusivity for 25 years. A friendship and complicity that made Baroness Inès Reille one of the most elegant women in Paris. After working for prestigious houses such as Guy Laroche, Bernard Perris founded his own couture house in 1964, focusing on the democratization of luxury goods. He is one of the pioneers of nouvelle couture, with techniques and manufacturing methods that enable a broad clientele to wear his creations. "
Bernard Perris and his partner, Jean Lacourrège, have always shown a real attachment to the Provence where they lived and to our museum, multiplying their donations.
