Maison Mode Méditerranée presents its primer. A new section that shares the fashion stories of Maryline Bellieud Vigouroux, founder of Maison Mode Méditerranée, as well as anecdotes about the great moments in the industry that have helped create the history of fashion, through the diversity of the places where it is written.
Here is M.B.V's account of the famous couturier, the eternal Azzedine Alaïa:

- Maryline:
"I can't bring myself to talk about Azzedine Alaïa in the past tense. I've known him for 32 years, and he's unforgettable, incomparable. It's a form of veneration that will never die out.
Our first appointment with César in Paris was a failure. "I'd like to thank you for your proposal to preside over the Musée de la Mode, an institution you'd like to create in Marseille, but I'm very busy and not very available for such a project...". A few weeks later, he and César came to Marseille to discover the city and receive the medal of honor presented by the Mayor of Marseille. I remember this great couturier, yet intimidated, taking the microphone to announce to the Marseilles inhabitants who had come to attend the ceremony in large numbers. "I'm proud to be an ambassador for the city of Marseille. It's the first time a city has awarded me such a beautiful medal, and I'll be back often, since I've agreed to preside over the Fashion Museum and the Institut Mode Méditerranée."

In the photo of this ceremony, you can see my astonishment at this surprise announcement, as nothing in our exchange had led me to expect this reversal. So, some time later, I dared:
"-Why did you say yes?
- I didn't know what to say," he confessed, laughing! A very Mediterranean spontaneity that sealed our friendship and collaboration.
I owe my apprenticeship in fashion to Azzedine. The love of these crafts, of couture, of couturiers themselves, to celebrate them and share their work with the general public.
My daughters Sophie and Aurélia are grateful for the privilege of watching Azzedine work in the evenings, passing him the pins before being rewarded by rummaging through his boxes to snatch a few patterns.
I owe him this passion that drives me every day to want to surprise him and seek his support.
The Mediterranean links us forever. Tunisia, where he rests, is lucky to have given birth to this genius."
